As a measurement expert, I'm frequently asked to make seemingly impossible measurements. Sometimes it's just a dare and other times it is to obtain necessary data for failure analysis or for design optimization.
In some cases, its even to support the technical specifications for our own products. In this fun session I'll share just a few of the most extreme measurement challenges I've faced and the techniques I've employed to succeed. The solutions are part lateral thinking, part mathematical and part perseverance. While they may seem extreme, some of these methods can easily be applied to everyday design tasks.
