Description

In this tutorial, attendees will gain fundamental knowledge on forward error correction (FEC) coding and its applications to high-speed serial link systems like 100/200/400/800G Ethernet. The material will cover basic concept of different FEC codes, encoder/decoder algorithms, and implementation costs including coding overhead, area, power and latency.   Pre-FEC and post-FEC performance analysis and measurement will be covered, followed by an outlook of next generation FEC options beyond 800GE system or 112Gbps PAM4 link.
